When Crazy Lust Goes Wrong.

Sometimes boys and girls make poor choices with their genitals. It happens to the best of us. When most of us have a random fit of poorly thought out lust with a lunatic, the crazy-person talks a whole lot of smack about the sane person that dissed them… for instance “his dick is like a pencil made for midgets” or “she smelled like 14 day old rotting sushi”. It is times like these that I think we all wish we could do a song like this as an ode to the insanity lurking within some crazy ho’s head that we regrettably got naked with once:

Travis note: This is a much better song than the first single (which sounded like fat people fucking)–but doesn’t he seem a little obsessed too? Regular people can’t handle getting rich. This explains why Em got surgery to make his face look more like Zac Efron’s.

Texas is the Reason “back and to the left”

I would rather drive around smoking cigarettes, looking out the window while blasting music than anything.

Maybe Tomorrow.

The lyrics to this one are amazing. This song has gone triple platinum in my eardrums over time. It makes me feel like I am floating in a pool in the Hollywood Hills while drinking a wine spritzer and no plans for the entire day. Hmmmmm, note to self for Saturday: find pool, buy wine, cancel all plans.

Dedicated Covers: Jeff Tweedy “Fake Plastic Trees (Radiohead)”

Funny how one man and a guitar can be either the greatest or the absolute worst thing in the world.

This is pretty grand. I think I can feel my bones growing just a little bit.

Guilty Pleasure: Plain White Tee’s “1234″

Posted in Pop Culture with tags , , , , on July 29, 2009 by lipstuck

I saw this video and fell in love with it. The song, the concept of the video, the little stories for each couple…. this is one of those songs that get stuck in your head and one of those videos that make you stare at the screen with a dumb grin on your face because for the fleeting moment it is in front of you, you truly believe in love.

I fell in love with a boy at a party last month simply because he looked like the singer from this band and it made me get the song stuck in my head. That lasted for about a day. As most of them do. But one day, after watching this video, I am pretty sure I will find a boy I want to sing this song to.

And he’ll sing it back to me.

Pandemic Radness: Mickey Rourke

Posted in Pop Culture with tags , , , on July 28, 2009 by lipstuck

No matter what he looks like, Mickey Rourke will ALWAYS be one of THE biggest badasses to ever live. Does it suck that he looks like some 900 year old sun worshiping former trophy wife from Miami now? Hell yeah it does… but, The Wrestler made me fall in love with him all over again, f-d up face and all. Pope of Greenwich Village is one of my favorite movies of all time, and this is when Mickey Rourke looked his absolute best. The way he dresses in this movie is amazing. Why, oh why, can’t guys dress like this these days?

Flashback: The Final Scene From Footloose

“VAMOS DANCAR!!!”

I was always way more partial to Chris Penn than to Kevin Bacon. Kevin Bacon has that lil strange nose. Chris Penn was the type that would make you a card on your dating “anniversary” but could still out drink the entire football team and kick some ass for you if need be.

This is how parties should look. I think I now know exactly what I want my birthday party to look like. All I need is a loft, some strings of lights and a shit load of balloons and glitter on the floor.

I could have also titled this blog as a Crush Object for the kid that pop-locks, but… I think I’ve given the secretly cool nerdy boys enough shine for one lifetime. I’m moving on.

For the record: Kelsey and I dance like this after a few glasses of wine.

Dedicated Covers: Hive “Re-Ignition (Bad Brains)”

Dj Hive was a cool guy. When I was trying to learn how to DJ we went over to his studio and saw these huge mixing boards and hard drives and I began to realize that just because I like spinning Tom Petty’s “American Girl” into Neil Diamond’s “Girl you’ll be a woman soon”, I was never going to be able to actually create new music.

This bummed me out.

An awesome tidbit about “Ultrasonic Sound” is that the NFL licensed it. So you’d be watching football and coming out of the commerical breaks you’d get to hear bad brains mixed with drum and bass. Which was validation of some sort.

Tron Legacy

The movie that I came away from Comic-Con 2009 most jazzed about was the sequel to Tron.

I was going to buy a “Flynn’s Arcade” t-shirt and then I realized I’m a grown man. So I’m blogging about it instead.

The Stooges “Real Cool Time”

Some songs are like audio porn. This is one of them.
