I like how music is spread nowadays.

A friend sent me a link to a clothing line she wanted me to check out (which was rad. Like a cross between Han Cholo and Polo…Han Polo I guess) and the soundtrack for the fashion show clip that was embeded was by this band Zola Jesus.

So then a quick Youtube search and Voila! Here they are…available for our millions of readers to hear.

It is like the digital version of passing zines around. My brain likes this.

Dedicated Covers: Deftones “If Only Tonight We Could Sleep (Cure)”

Deftones might do the greatest covers of all time. I am trying to figure out the best song for them to cover on their new album, but nothing I come up with would be considered cool. But I’m thinking, if they covered it, then it would become cool by default.

I mean T’Pau had a really good beat with “Heart and Soul” and hearing Chino belt that out would be dope right? Should I get into managing bands? I’d be all like “Less notes on that shit!” and “Slow it down!” and “Whats with all these words!!!!”

Guns N’ Roses “Don’t Cry”

Remember when Guns N’ Roses was the best band in the world?

It was a simpler time.

These guys were like the scientists who break down DNA, except instead of working with DNA they were working with R&R…ahhh man, that was just lame. Like seriously? Jesus.

The idea being, the dudes broke life down to its most basic elements.

What would a conversation between them, and the version of themselves that lived in this place 20 years earlier and listened to Anthrax sound like? Would they even be able to communicate? Or would they both recognize that they are both kind of dorky? And then would they party together?
