Crush Objects: Kirsten Baker (Friday the 13th Part 2)

This was the first film in the franchise I saw.

We stayed up late at a buddy’s house and watched it on Cinemax maybe (pretty sure this was before VCRs, but perhaps not).

I had to walk home through the woods alone that night.

My heart started racing so fast once I saw the lights of our house in the distance.  I just knew, that here, at the edge of the woods, with safety in sight, was where the machete attack would come.  Sheer terror.  I ran across our lawn, into the house and locked the doors.

Anyway, dying at the ripe age of 13, might not be so bad after seeing someone as hot as Kirsten Baker in this film.

There is something so soothing about this film.

Gary Hustwit takes something as innocuous as a font, especially one as simple and without flash like Helvetica, something you have probably never thought about…and he crafts a movie that touches on art, commerce, history and how we communicate as a society.

Like the font, it is simple, beautiful and it is incredible*
